The Full Story of "The Event"

I nearly forgot to let you know that I’ve posted my recap of the event I went to in New Jersey two weeks ago. You know you want to find out what happened.

New Reviews

I’m over at Mommy’s Must Haves today with a couple of new reviews for you.

If you’re in the market for a new babysitter, or just want a date night out but worry about leaving your kid with the next door neighbor’s teen who quite possibly has a cell phone growing out of her ear, then you should check out my review of Care.com.

If you have a child still in diapers who suffers from diaper rash (and if your child has never had diaper rash, well, you and your Best Mom Ever trophy can skip this one, OK?), check out my review of the new diaper ointment Parent Bloggers sent me called Diaper Goop. Sure, the name isn’t very inspiring, but don’t let the name fool you.

Vamos a Jugar con Whistlefritz

In our area, there’s no denying that Spanish has claimed the #2 spot for most spoken language. And if you travel just four blocks from our neighborhood, Spanish is easily heard more than English.

My knowledge of Spanish is limited. I had three years of it in high school, and one semester in college. So I can still remember basic words and phrases, but unless someone speaks to me in Spanish like they would to a two year old, I’m lost. I wish I would have learned a second language earlier, but languages were not offered any earlier than high school in my town.

Knowing that a second language should be introduced as soon as possible, I was excited to try the new Whistlefritz Spanish DVDs offered by the Parent Bloggers Network.

A Cool Magazine For The Preschool Set

I’m over at Mommy’s Must Haves today with a review of High Five, a magazine published by Highlights (remember Highlights when we were kids?) for the preschool crowd.

Now your 2-6 year old can have his/her own magazine without stealing your issue of People each week. You can read the full review here, and also check out how you can win your own subscription.

Pingu Skates Into Our Hearts

Maybe I was the last one out there to have heard of Pingu? Apparently this little claymation penguin was taking the preschool world by storm on PBS Sprout while I was watching Noggin.

But when Parent Bloggers asked me to review the first DVD, Pingu: On Thin Ice, I jumped at the chance without even knowing the story. It was about penguins, and Cordy likes penguins, so that was enough motivation for me.
